Hello,
am starting son (4weeks) on aptimil comfort but am finding it too thick to be sucked through a size 2 aven teat. Would it be ok to use a size 3 at 4weeks old or would you recomment another bottle such as dr brown?

ThanksXXX.

Have you been advised to use this milk? I only ask as dtds were in special care when they were first born and the nurses there were very against it and told us to use the normal Aptamil. Dtds are now 16w and have 2 bottles a day, we tried hungry baby at night but they were quite sick on it so we've gone back to the standard one.

If ds has colic I recommend gripe water from Boots (Boots own brand one) but that's only because it helped a bit with dd1 who had terrible colic.

The Mam bottles have a "variflow" teat that allows thicker fluids (I haven't tried it though). Good luck x

sue what symptoms are you seeing with the normal formula?

when i used cow and gate comfort for ds1 i used a faster teat, seemed ok as it just flows slower than with normal formula.

You could try variflow (it's a cross shape) and incidentally DS had bad 'colic' and he has had no issue with win since using them.

I used aptamil comfort and a variflow teat - they are better for Los as they can control how much comes out then
