EBF but I'm not losing any weight - advice please

Hi I have a 3month old DS and am EBF. I was 8.5 stone pre-pregnancy and I went up to 11stone when pregnant. Initially I lost the first stone very quickly (first month) without doing anything.

I have stayed at a steady 10 stone for the last couple of months but everyone I meet says that they are losing weight whilst BF and still eating loads and that their weight seems to be falling off without any effort.

This micraculous non effort breatfeeding weight loss isn't happening for me . Anyone else found the same? Has anyone done weight watchers whilst BF - is it allowed? I thinkI'm going to start power pramming in the new year. I just don't want to mess up milk supply by losing weight too quickly.

I lost very little weight while breast feeding (plenty of exercise, sensible diet). My body seemed to have gone into earth mother mode. As soon as I stopped it fell off. I wouldn't bother dieting until you have stopped bf

Happaned to me the first time, but not this time. I'm still a few pounds away from my pre-preg weight and DD is now 16 months. With my DS I lost all of it plus more by 4 months.

I didn't lose weight until DD stepped down her feeding (when she weaned onto solids). I lost nearly a stone in a couple of weeks with no effort once I stopped completely.

I seem to be gaining weight not losing and I'm permanently starving.

I lost a lot of weight (below pre pregnancy in 3 months) but I was walking for 90 mins a day too taking DS for walks in the sling to get him to sleep. Plus I probably didn't eat enough - I would grab a sarnie and soup for lunch and the odd snack in the day. I did suffer for it and by 4 months I got very run down and had to pay attention to my diet as wasn't getting enough vitamins.

I lost the weight quite quickly but didn't put on very much in pregnancy. I found it really shifted at around 6 months.

The research shows that the difference in weight loss between bf mothers and ff mothers is significant only after 6 mths of bf - and there is a lot of variation among individuals, so some people will lose before then, and others will need to wait a bit longer .

It took about a year each time for me.

yes you can do weight watchers and other slimming programmes while bf.

I was the same with DD1. Think it was because I was a lot more inactive. When I went back to work the weight dropped off and ended up lighter than pre-pg.

This time around I'm almost there already at 10 weeks.

I could NOT lose weight while bfing dd. I ran, ate healthily etc, nada until I stopped.

I have a 15wo ds and have only a few more pounds to go to get to my pre preg weight. No idea what's different this time. I have cut out ALL treats and exercise/run for an hour 4-5 times a week.
