Diagnosing tongue tie in a toddler

I have a suspicion that DS (just turning 2) might have a tongue tie.

Who could I get to look at it to check? Would a bf counsellor (we have a bf cafe near here) know about that for a child this age, or is it a GP question?

I know that by this age, doing anything about a TT would involve a general anaesthetic and probably wouldn't be done unless it's causing particular problems (which I don't think is the case). But if he does have one I'd like to know about it so I can keep an eye out for problems in the future.

Never tried to get it diagnosed in a toddler but for babies BFCs are generally better than GPs so perhaps the same for older age groups too. Or a really good paediatric dentist.

Thanks. Xmas Smile

A local friend has just recommended a lactation consultant with experience in tongue tie, so that's probably going to be the best way for me to follow it up.
