Baby in strange mood - refuses to feed in cradle hold

DS is 13 weeks. I posted last week about his stinky ill poos (he had a cold); they're still stinky, I guess he's still got some mucus going on. The last 48 hours he's been in a terrible mood, fussing and crying, which is very out of character. He's also begun to scream every time I offer the breast in cradle hold.

We generally mix up positions depending where we are and how lazy I'm feeling but he's never flatly (and vocally) refused a position before. He cried himself to sleep last night, then had a massive 3 hour nap this morning, which is unheard of! I wondered if he has a residual sore throat or poorly ears and that's affecting him in certain positions. He's clearly distressed and I can't figure out why.

I'm now feeding every way BUT cradle hold, he is producing wet and dirty (stinky) nappies, though did go nearly 24 hours without a poo yesterday/today; which is again unusual. He's normally an explosive poo nearly every feed kinda guy!

He's not got a temperature... Does anyone have any ideas? I might nip him to the docs tomorrow anyway to check his ears & throat.

My DS had some rotten colds when he was that age, and we found he coped better with the muccus the more upright he was, especially when feeding.
Sometimes they swallow the mucus and it can upset their stomach a bit, at both ends.

Agree could be the ears. Worth making sure there's no infection.
