Keeps turning onto her tummy to BF

DD likes to fall asleep/sleep on her tummy. Fine. Has had me darting up and down stairs much more than DS (and that was a lot!) but now she is turning whilst feeding which is near impossible to do - my boobs may be starting to droop somewhat - but it's not working for either of us like this.
I've managed to stop her tonight but she is doing it more and more..
She's been exclusively BF and has just turned 6m - she prefers to feed lying down but will feed in my arms if she HAS to.. Most feeding done around 2am-3 and 4am-5.

Could it be flow? Or is she just a fuddy duddy (like her Dad )?

Any tips so I can nip it in the bud?

Thanks! :)

Could you lie down on your back and lie her across you? Or prop yourself up with pillows if lying flat is too uncomfy or wont work?

Sorry if that's a rubbish suggestion. Not a problem I've had, but DD tended to happily have all her feeds in cradle hold.

My DS (8 months) has just started to do that too! Don't know why. We also feed lying down (horrific birth left me unable to sit up for a while). It seems to happen more when he's a bit tired or grouchy. I try to bend his legs and pull his knees towards me making it more difficult to turn over or, failing that, just swap sides and that seems to stop him.

If your flow is fast she may be trying to slow it by doing this but it sounds more like she is doing it for comfort, especially as she is an older baby. I would try going cold turkey on the lying down feed, even at night. Perhaps try a rugby ball feeding position at night and see if that makes it any different (if she is avoiding frontal body contact for whatever reason). My daughter didn't much like the traditional hold for reasons best known to her and we found this alternative worked for her.

KD0706 - thanks - have tried different positions - lying down seemed to be working for us until the weekend when she began this malarkey!

nomoreminibreaks - How strange! Yes - v tired and grouchy and trying to get comfy but then unable to feed.. I did tuck her legs in just now and managed to get her down but alas - she's woken up 10 minutes later... :(

bigpigeon - thanks! Rugby is my least least fave position as I am utterley rubbish at it! I will give it a go.. We co-sleep and I am able to feed without much disruption through the night - this is feeding to sleep post 19:00 until I go to sleep - much up and down stairs-ness.

She does go down with patting back/bum to sleep every so often which was unheard of with DS. Maybe it will pass..

My ds got into a bad habit at one time, munching and pulling/stretching me. In the end I just took him off when he started monkeying about and he soon got the message that the milkbar was shut if he hurt me. He is really stubborn though so it took a few times of "tough love" but I reasoned it was either that or I lost a nipple. No brainer.
