After a couple of months of waiting, I've been all checked out and am about to become a milk donor for the JR milk bank. Hurrah!

Can't wait for my bottles to arrive - then I'll have milk flying out the door.

Would really implore those breastfeeding to look at UKAMB and find your nearest milk bank - i don't actually live in the same town as the bank, but a local hospital is going to let my milkies hitch a ride on one of their delivery vans.

Congratulations on being a donor, it's an amazing thing you are doing. Thanks

Awwww! Well done, good girl. You deserve lots and lots of luck. What goes round comes round and all that. I couldn't nurse twins entirely, though I wanted to. Had to top them up w formula but at least I produced enough to give them 15mins each, at each feed. There are lots of poor traumatised mums out there so worried about poorly babies that it affects milk production.
Again, well done you.

Fantastic, well done motherpanda!!

Don't forget to claim your free UKAMB membership - download this form:

www.ukamb.org/forms/Membership_application_10.pdf

and choose donor at the bottom, writing your milk bank on the form to get free membership. Or, join as a paid member if you wish of course - every penny counts as well as every drop!!

Sounds like you're going to be a brilliant donor. Some mums get sponsored by the amount they express to raise (very) desperately needed funds for UKAMB - maybe worth considering?

And anyone who is interested in donating to UKAMB to keep fighting for access to donor milk for every baby who needs it can get their donation doubled by the lovely online eco baby store Makes a Change right here: www.justgiving.com/makesachange-ukamb

I'll stop the blatent support of UKAMB now, panda Grin

But you can still support UKAMB :) and therefore support babies who need donor milk! :) :) :)

OP, I am a beneficiary of the milk bank at the JR ! I had some really tough times bf-ing in the early weeks, but each time I was tempted to throw in the towel I thought about the people who had donated milk to give me a baby who'd never had formula- it really gave me the determination to keep going. DS is now 3 months old, ebf and thriving. So thank you for helping people like me- it has an impact far beyond the feeds given in the hospital. Thanks

Oh that's amazing! :) :)
