EBF baby has not pooped for a week

13 weeks, usually goes every 4 or 5 days (once went 6). No obvious signs of discomfort. Should I take him to the docs? Last time he went six days I called the docs and they didn't seem concerned (he 'produced' that afternoon). Am bit worried as a week seems like a long time.

Normal for ebf baby at this age. Longest one of mine went was just shy of 2 weeks.

Be ready for a poonami. Take change of clothes for baby (and you) where ever you go Grin

Two weeks, wow!

Yes I am carrying around clothes the whole time - last weekend he went while we were on the train from Ncle to London - joy.

I assume then there is nothing I should do / give to help things along?

dr told me that it was only something to worry about if baby doesn't poo for more than 2 weeks

EBF babies don't really get constipated. BM is very easy to digest so it's not a worry if they don't have a poo. As you say he's not straining or looking uncomfortable. Just be prepared for the poonami that's coming. Grin

Totally normal. BF is such a perfect food that there's just not a lot of waste. Both of mine went ages between poos at that age.

My hv told me about a baby she knew of recently that went for 20 days. Apparently the smell was pretty awful as it had spent a good while fermenting.
