Donating b/milk and age of baby

I've been trying to find a hospital milk bank that will take my freezer stash of expressed milk. A couple I have tried will only take milk from Mums whose babies are younger than six months.
My DD is nine months. I am back at work and expressing during the day, plus doing her breakfast, bedtime and an overnight (grr) feed.
I can generally keep up with what she drinks so can't see how we are ever going to get through the 3 or 4 litres I have in the freezer.
DH has suggested making baby yogurt out of it for DD if a hospital won't take it but I'd rather it went to help sick babies if it can.
Is the under six months rule universal does anyone know?

google human milk for human babies...

that might help

as far as i know all 12 of the hospital milk banks in the uk require baby to be under 6 months at time of first donation (as tests etc are expensive if you dont donate for long) BUT if you have loads in the freezer to donate they might use their judgement and over rule.... if its worth their while

Thank you. It seems a shame not to give it someone who could use it.
We have loads but I still got cross when DH did a night feed for me, so I could sleep through, and left a full bottle out all night so I had to throw it away.

I thought it was more to do with needs of baby receiving donation ?
I donated and I'm sure they said the prem babies needed early Breastmilk
But yes, expense is a major factor so def worth an ask.
Especially if you are willing to take the milk to them.

I used my freezer stash to stop expressing at work but so DD still had a bottle during the day for another few months (also had 3 litres).

ohgoon you are right.... but if you are already donating then they accept milk from mums with babies up to a year old.

And while the younger the baby, the better, even breast milk for an 11m baby is better for the teeny tiny babies in SCBU than cows formular.

I started donating milk from when my baby was 12 days old

try Chester, they accepted my freezer stash as a one off donation, DS was over 6m at the time.
