Having had a particularly interesting time last weekend after a Friday night rogan josh I wondered if anyone had experience of other foods they'd eaten affecting their little ones. Serious answers or funny experiences all welcome!

Thread here has some experiences in it, WiFi :)

There are no rules about foods and babies' reactions, and probably food is blamed far more often than it deserves....but there is a wealth of anecdotal stuff so just occasionally, there may well be a connection :)

Just avoided too much caffeine or alcohol.

Otherwise didn't change my diet one bit!

www.kellymom.com has some good info on it I think. :)

"too much" is relavtive thought surely? Know I've had more than one glass of wine or three and we've both been ok Smile.

Like the others have said, there is nothing to avoid just enjoy eating and enjoy feeding your lovely LO Smile.

spaghetti :) because it's hard to eat one handed and my baby's clothes get covered in sauce.
or maybe I'm just messy!

Things you can't eat one handed.

:)

Anything crunchy. It disturbs DS2, apparently. Hmm

Sorry, OP! Seriously, I have never noticed any correlation between what I eat and how my babies have behaved/poo'd. That's a sample of two and purely anecdotal, however. Grin

oh i definitely had more than one glass too. :)

i guess i was really meaning not getting regularly plastered, or having 10 big cups of coffee a day or something!

A study in the US showed that babies in the NICU whose mums were exclusively expressing preferred milk expressed after their mums had been given a garlic tablet. IE they like the strong flavours.

hazchem · 25/11/2011 21:27

wifi just finished a lamb rogan josh. so will report back on monday which will give us a very unscientific study of 2!

dd1 had colic which was horrendous after a mild curry. dtds don't react at all to curry. They didn't settle after a glass of wine on two occasions when they were very young but seems okay now.

hermionestranger · 25/11/2011 22:13

DS2 had horiffic wind after I had coffee. Stopped after about 4 months though!

hazchem · 26/11/2011 20:03

wifi we are all fine after the rogan josh.

However attempted to eat garlic chilli chicken noodles while breast feeding at lunch. It is impossible to use chopsticks while breastfeeding on a wooden bench!

Machasma · 26/11/2011 21:32

I went out for dinner. Had chilli king prawns. Came home and fed my boy. 2 hours later massive screaming and pulling knees up in pain. Poor baby was in agony. Up ALL night
