I've just brought out the sterilisor to clean and check it's working and the inside parts that hold the bottles are covered in a kind of white powder, I've descaled it and ran a cycle twice but it's still there, if i scrape it with my nail it goes away. I've not used it for 4 years so can't remember if it was there before. Is it still ok to use do you think?

If it's that old could it be the plastic degrading? If not I would imagine it's limescale, give it a good scrub and it should all come off. I left mine for two weeks when we went on holiday and it was coated in it. Once it had a good scrub it was fine.
