Nursing strike for 11 month old boy - advice needed!

Hi mums

My 11 month old has refused to bf since yesterday morning. I started to drop the midday feed and also stopped feeding when he woke at night over the last two few weeks. He is also really into his food and drinks water from a sippy cup. I had planned to slowly stop bf but he has decided not to feed at all! He does have a cold and teething (which seem to go hand on hand with him) and so that may be a contributing factor - does anyone have any advice? I have had to pump as I am in such discomfort. xx

One of mine did that, I just stopped. He is now 13 and 6 feet tall... no nutritional problems obviously !!

My 9mo dd did that last week - the strike lasted 3 days. We found she had 4 teeth coming through at once. I pumped and gave her the milk from a cup (no teat as she rejected them), and kept offering the boob throughout the day but tried not to get stressed about it (easier said than done!). She eventually took to the boob at the first morning feed when she was drowsy. Keep persevering!
