Breastfeeding, hungry and gaining weight!

I've been breastfeeding for almost 14 months, in the beginning (the first 3 months) I lost weight bc I sat and bf all day and didn't have a chance to eat. Since he's been on solids (since 6 months) I've been reducing his feeds and now down to one in morning and one at night, but I'm still as hungry and gaining weight all the time but I'm not eating as much recently. I've heard that the weight falls off after you stop bf. I don't want to stop bf yet and neither does my son, but I want my figure back! Any experiences of this?

mmmm..not sure you want to hear my answer though......my figure recovered quite a bit after I stopped but I did not find it that easy to drop the weight...one thing you must be aware is that even if you get back to your previous weight ( I almost have) your shape will be different ( in my case I never had hips, now do)

Don't sweat it though, your body will recover gradually. And in the meantime you are doing a fantastic thing for your DS! Well done you!

Thanks so much for your reply; your advice and encouragement are a really big help. I'm the same, I never had hips before and now do! Well done for almost getting back to your previous weight! I'm hoping the new, child-bearing hips will make the next baby I have much easier to give birth to! I'm worried though what'll happen to my breasts when I stop feeding since I've been doing it for so long now and went up 4 cups! I think if I go back to pre-pregnancy bra size that in itself will lose about 2 stones off my weight!!!

I should say i had many children in quite quick succession.

boobs are amazing...some people seem to lose them completely after they stop feeding...me, I'm 2 sizes bigger than when i started, and hips too. Improvement, I think...but it still means none of my clothes will ever fit me again!
