trying to drop day feeds, is this making her wake more at night?

I'm going back to work on Monday and trying to drop the day feeds so that it is easier for GPs looking after her as she won't take a bottle from them. So trying to just feed at breakfast and bedtime. (we were already down to just one day feed after lunch so it is only one I am trying to drop)

But she is now waking in the night which she hasn't done for a while. Is this because she needs more milk, or just a coincidence (she has a cold at the moment as well so originally I thought it was just that which was waking her)?

Should I just feed her when I am there in the day and not worry about the 2 days I am not and suggest they give her a snack instead or stick with the plan and hope once she is over the cold she will sleep better.

Confused and just want to do the best for her and her GPs when I am not there.

mendip just wondered how old your DD is?

If it's any help I went back to work when both of mine were about 9 or 10 months and I also work 2 days a week.

Mine were both bottle refusers too. I used to feed them and give them breakfast in the morning on the days I worked then send them with plenty of food and some full fat milk which they had from a cup whilst there. They both refused formula and ebm. In all honesty the amount of milk they had on those 2 days was very little but they usually ate well. Then they had a bf when I picked them up and another before bed.

On the days I was at home I carried on bfing in the day and my body got used to it very quickly.

Under 12 months she should be having a bf an hour before solids so to answer your questions, yes I think you should bf on the days you are home and yes, she is probably waking because she is hungry [hsmile].
