Is it ok to give breastfed 6week old one/two formula feeds?

Is it ok to give my 6week old ds a bottle of formula when I go out tomorrow? I plan to leave him for about 4 hrs. I retrieved breast pump from the loft yesterday and the damn thing is broken. He has been exclusively breastfed from birth and not had a bottle yet. I know he might not take a bottle or even formula and I should have not left it so late etc. I have tried to express manually and I can't do it. I am reluctant to buy a new pump tomorrow as I only need to replace one part of it, which I can only get online, so....if I want to go out for a few hrs tomorrow will baby suffer if I leave dp to feed him formula? From what I've read it says baby might get digestive problems etc., but I am wondering if this is a small chance - is it likely he will get stomach upset from just one feed?

IMO, one feed probably won't make too much of a difference, BUT, as your baby has never had a bottle before, he may not accept a bottle, or he may not accept formula from a bottle if he doesn't like it.
My DS2 has been having one bottle of formula a week since he was about 8 weeks old, and at the beginning he used to only ever take about half an ounce, now at almost 5 months he still only takes about 3oz, but it is enough to keep him going for the few hours I have to leave him every week..

Thanks Ivy. Well I figured that I will find out tomorrow if he will/won't take the bottle, if he is hungry enough I hope he will. I will be about half hr away so if he really starts to fuss about taking the bottle then its not far for me to get back to him. DP is making noise about how I shouldn't give him formula as he is only 6 weeks blah blah blah, I'm thinking 'uh no, give me a break, you don't feed him 24/7!' Just wanted to know if anyone has done similar with just one odd feed.

If there is one thing I learned after exclusively breastfeeding DS1 for a veery long time, it is that formula is not poison. I was very PFB about him never having formula.
This time, I am just glad if DS2 gets something down him and keeps it down.

if you feed him really well before you leave he shouldn't get too hungry in 4 hours, so even if he doesn't want the bottle, it probably won't do him any harm. I always find that my babies were a lot less hungry/looking for milk when I wasn't around. I guess it's the milk smell on me that does it.
