Is this too much milk? Combined feeding when at nursery

I feel a bit like I don't know what I'm doing! DS is 9 months and has been breastfed and never taken a bottle. He started nursery last week and has cleverly worked a bottle out now and I am so happy that he can take some milk when I'm not there. I can't express, or can't be bothered to at work, so I'm happy for him to have formula at nursery. However, he won't eat his lunch there so now I'm wondering if he has too much milk and to ask them to cut down?

I bf in the morning about 7am, then he has about 5oz of formula at 10am, then 6oz formula about 1.30pm, then I bf again before milk. Like I said, he eats his other meals but refuses lunch at nursery and it bothers me as that's their 'main' meal so has the biggest bulk of vegetables and protein. I think they just try and replicate what we do at home and I tend to feed him before naps but obviously have no idea what he takes. Does that seem like a lot of milk?

I am a bit out of it for milk amounts but do you think some of it might be that it is new environment and that he is just a little unsettled? YOu could try cutting back on the milk at 10 and see if that helps, he could alwys have it after his lunch if still hungry.

So it's just 2 bottles and 2 bfs a day? In which case I'd say it sounds about right - under 12 months they need 20oz of formula a day, so if he's getting half his milk from formula then 11oz is ok. If you cut the morning bottle you might need to add in another breastfeed later to compensate?

I think it might just be the environment, he ate his lunch fine when I left him with mum. Thanks for the advice. Hope he settles in to it as I feel awful when I hear he's not eating (even though I know he won't starve).
