So following on from a post re infacol I just spotted on here....does anyone know the effects if you use baby gaviscon and gripe water together after a feed? The infant gaviscon is working a treat for my DD, she's like a different baby but is now struggling to get her wind up.

We were using infacol but she hates the taste and I had read somewhere that it can make reflux worse (?!?) so we're trying gripe water. Benefit being its instant rather than having to wait till infacol builds again.

We are giving the gav mixed with EBM in a bottle after each BF. Can I just add the gripe water to that???

Hi there! Not too sure about this- are u sure she has wind?? Gaviscon can help bring wind up( it works that way with me!!). Also gripe water cannot be used until 4 weeks old- not sure of your lo age? It won't do any harm though using both- you prob won't know till you try it out. One might counteract the other iyswim??Confused

Well we had Gaviscon in every bottle for months and would often give her gripe water very shortly after that, as she always got very 'wet' hiccups that would then turn into major puking. No problems with it!

It's only natural stuff in gripe water, it's not going to have a bad effect with Gaviscon I wouldn't have thought.

Smashing thanks people just wanted reassurance that I wasn't poisoning her or something! She's 11 weeks now so fine to use gripe water. Will carry on and see how we go.
