I've read it... some of it is good but I ended up downright hating it - the bit on sleep IIRC did it for me. I think she talks about how you've just got to live with sleep deprivation and that it's not too tall an order to function after being up 7+ times per night. I read this after not sleeping for more than 2 hours in one stretch for 1.5 years and was really cheesed off to be told to 'pull my socks up' and think of the toddler who surely had to be nursed all night long if that's what she wanted.....

Maybe I misunderstood it? I was extremely sleep-deprived and pregnant to boot, and it was 5 years ago...

Yes, I saw abit at the start about bf your toddler during the night.. she did not specify what age, but I thought "No bleedin way" !!!

She looks like she gets all her kids to cook and clean up with precision.

I did like the bit where she quotes a mother who says...

"laziness was probably the strongest urge that got me to nurse so well and to fulfill my childs needs in his earliest months"

I have advocated that here on MN before I co-sleep cos its nice but also cos I am lazy! Who wants to get out of bed 2, 3, 4 or 5 times a night.

I sent my sister a pic of me and the two kids all having a day time sleep together. I had to laugh when she responded, "I wish we could do that" ...she put both her kids in other rooms from day 1!! Well that is why that cannot do it!

I liked it, because it validated many of the choices we had already made and were feeling oddballs about. I do agree with her philosophies and find it a comforting and encouraging book to come back to when I am feeling frazzled or disillusioned.
