My 3month old daughter drinking alot of water is it normal?

My Daughter just turned 3months and has started to drink a bottle of water bout an hour after her bottle of milk. This is my first child i was just wounderin if this was normal or not?

Depends. How much milk does she normally drink in a day?

shes on 8oz of hungryer milk every 2-3hours. I got told thats ok because shes sleepin through the night and is makeing up for what she has missed through the night

you mean she is drinking a bottle of water after EVERY bottle of milk? That is way too much water.

I don't think it is recommended to give much water to babies under 6 months

Does she really need the hungry baby milk? Calorie wise they're the same as stage 1, they just have a different ratio of casein to something else (sorry, can't remember, it's been a while :) )

How many bottles does she have? At about that age DS was on 7 x 7oz bottles in a 24 hour period.

I assume she's just on milk, no solids at all?

but it seems like she is crying for it wont sleep until u give her some :S

Give her normal milk, not hungry baby milk. She will drink more of it, will get more nutrition and won't need the water. If she's crying for a bottle, that bottle needs to contain milk.

Also, are you overdressing her? The weather is very warm and really she only needs short sleeves and short legs.

By normal milk, I mean stage one baby formula, NOT cow's milk.

Give her normal formula and then when she wants more, give her more formula. Don't try to fill her up by forcing her to take more than she wants at a feed. Don't offer water. It is not recommended at all.

Give her more milk, just normal formula, don't bother with the hungry baby stuff. She doesn't need extra water.

As others have said, water isn't recommended or needed at this age. DD2 is 6.5 months and I've only just started giving her a little bit of water when she's having solids. She probably has at most 1 or 2oz of water a day. If she's crying for more after an hour, it is because she's hungry rather than thirsty especially if she's been filling up with water.

what everyone else has said, she doesnt need that amount of water!

offer her milk and if she wont take it because she is full then maybe offer her a dummy? she could just be wanting to suck for comfort?
