My breast-feeding days are over - feeling sad

DS2 is 7 months old and it looks like the breast-feeding may be over. We are unlikely to have anymore babies and I feel really quite depressed about not bfeeding anymore. I guess many mums feel sad about this. Basically DS2 has lost interest and my milk has pretty much dried up.

I guess I should accept this but tempted to express in case he changes his mind. Just in need of some symapthy...

Hey, sweet - could this be a nursing strike? Very rare for a baby under one to self-wean.

kellymom has some great advice if you do want to keep bfeeding

Otherwise - well done for doing it for seven months! Congratulations!

Aw I hope he does change his mind. It must be awful not to be able to continue when you want to, however early or late it happens. As Hunker says though, seven months is fab, you must have had lots of special moments in all that time

Thanks - I have printed off the kellymom info. Hoped to keep going at least as long as ds1 (10 months). Think he may have 'nipple confusion' as he sometimes sucks at it and i take him off and latch on again. Also think he is frustrated waiting for letdown reflex.
