Couple of questions, milk donation and oversupply

My baby is 7 weeks old and I have oversupply/fast letdown. I did try block feeding for a while, which seemed to help a little, but I have had mastitis twice, at 7 days and 3 weeks and am reluctant to block feed again in case I get mastitis again. It is causing us some problems and I wondered if it will rectify itself as BF becomes more established?

Also, I am very interested in donating milk. We move to Edinburgh later this month and the nearest milk bank is Glasgow. I have spoken to them and would need to drive the milk there myself, which I don't mind doing, but is donating via the milk bank the only option or do some hospitals accept it direct?

Donating has to be via a milk bank as they literally pasturise the milk so has to be special place. You have to have a blood test and questionnaire but can freeze milk at home so you dont need to make that trip all the time.
I did it and felt great!

Thankyou. I've been in touch with the milk bank already and filled out the questionairre and have to get in touch as soon as I can after we move to meet up with the co-ordinator and get the blood test done.

I just wasn't sure as there are currently so few milk banks still if some hospitals had their own facilities for screening Mums and making the milk safe.

Thanks again.
