I need some advice! My dd is 14 months old. Have managed to stop daytime feeds some time ago, but can not get her to stop night feeds. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you want to stop just shut up shop. That is what my sister had to do - she just refused access to the breast which resulted in a few difficult days that actually passed quite quickly. For me, the longest I fed was 15 months and my babies decided themselves they had had enough.

Mears, I suppose the hardest thing for me is that it is nights(!) and I am not looking forward to going to work on a couple of hours sleep! You say that yours deceided themselves... was it anything that you did that changed it? I have heard later meals could be an option.

The only thing I did differently was shout at baby number 4 when she bit me inexpectedly age 15 months. Because she got a fright she would not go back to the breast despite me trying all sorts of tricks for a fortnight Previous baby stopped at 14 months - he just turned his nose up when he was offered. The other 2 just didn't look for the breast at 11 months and 10 months (I was pregnant at the time and didn't pursue it).
I loved breastfeeding and would have continued longer with my last 2 babies but they decided differently themselves.
