I'm starting a course in September and it is two evenings a week, 6-9pm. Right over DS2's bedtime (and DS1 for that matter, but he's 5 so not the problem here). DS2 will be 9 months old and EBF and is being weaned as we speak, but he still has a boob before bed. Someone tell me should I use a bottle or a cup and should I use EBM, formula or normal milk? I don't remember what we did last time (shift work). Help!!!

Does he feed to sleep? If so then I'd go for a bottle of (ideally) EBM (or formula if expressing difficult) if he'll take a bottle.

Otherwise a cup of something is probably best if you don't need that sleepiness from sucking

He goes down awake some nights and others awake, depends how tired he is. I think we'll just try a cup of ebm and see how we go.

Update, update.

Course is going BRILLIANTLY and so far so is getting the baby down. Don't tell the HV but we've found that a cup of cows milk with a teaspoon of ovaltine in it works the best. He occasionally wakes in the night, but on the whole he's sleeping through and settling for whoever puts him down. [hsmile]
