Have to work tomorrow evening and have to leave baby with very capable friend, (dh works away). She will need feeding before bed but am exclusively so have no idea how much she takes.

I have expressed 4 oz and frozen, so my question is is this enough or shall I put more in each bag? how many bags of this should i leave ? Normally she goes down once she's fed and content about 7.30/8pm

tia.

I think 4 oz should be fine. They drink on average 25 oz per day so if she's feeding 6 or more times per day then each feed will be around 4 oz or so. If it was me than I would probably express a 2nd back of 2-3 oz which your friend can defrost in an emergency as a back up so you're not worring (plus if it's not used then can stay in the freezer until next time).

I don't think you should be adding to previously frozen milk. My understanding is that you can cool and mix milk in the fridge over a 24 hr period and then freeze it, but shouldn't add to already frozen stuff.

I usually freeze bags of 3oz or so as I find 1 or 2 bags usually does most feeds.

PS Hope she takes a bottle. Could you leave a sippy cup as well just in case
