After much backing and forthing and feeling guilty, I think I'm going to have to give DS2 some formula. Basically we're getting married in two weeks, I have a shitload to do, and he still feeds like a newborn (hourly or more throughout the day, two hourly at night if I'm lucky). This would be just about doable (he feeds in the sling, albeit not terribly comfortably, and we co-sleep) if it weren't for the aforementioned shitload to do.
I've tried pumping, but as soon as I got up to any kind of volume (like, an ounce a time after a week of regular pumping) I got mastitis - this happened with DS1 as well, so I suspect is not coincidence - and I just can't face that again, so expressed milk isn't an option (beyond the few ounces I have in the freezer).
I'm thinking if he can have a bottle, I can at least hand him to DH for a couple of hours in the evening and get on with things.
So, he'll be almost 16 weeks when we get married. If I allow him to demand feed again afterwards and cut out the bottle a day, will my supply just adjust back up? Or am I going to be stuck on a bottle a day till he drops a feed or two after weaning?
