Anyone know where you can buy disposable formula bottles?

Our ds3 is currently 4 weeks old and formula fed on aptamil. We are going camping in 3 weeks and I would like to take along the disposable bottles (as are used in hospitals) in order that we don't need to worry about sterilising, but cant seem to find them anywhere. Does anyone know where I can buy these? Would prefer aptamil, but willing to switch brand for a few days.

You can get pre-sterilised bottles on Amazon and take cartons.

Look for Playtex Drop-ins. Throw away the inner bit, leaving only the teat to wash really well. You can then use your normal formula. I use these for flights and long days out.

You fill them with whatever milk you want, so can buy cartons of your formular of choice.

alternatively take a tupperware or klip lock type tub and some sterilising tablets and a couple of bottles, so you always have a sterile bottle ready for the next feed.

I would advise you to take some of your usual bottles and a cold water steriliser as well, we tried DD on the Tommee Tippee disposables once and she refused to drink from them, the teat is made from cheap nasty plastic and you could hear it squeaking against her gums, she hated it.

Thanks heidikat - thought we'd try them at home first so definitely will following your post. Haven't used a cold water steriliser before - how does it work? Do they work for all bottle types? Where do you get them?

With a cold water steriliser it's basically a bucket like this and you buy milton tablets to dissolve in it and keep the bottles in the solution until you need them, change the solution about once a day.

You can cold water sterilise in any container - just as long as you can measure the right volume of water and fully submerge the bottles and teats etc - so you might not need to buy something specific. You could identify a container you already have, get some milton (any supermarket) and just mark on the container where the water needs to come up to for the right concentration of milton. We did this recently on holiday and also have a bottle of milton here in case of power cuts as our steriliser uses the microwave.
