Has anyone managed to get a refund on a Medela breast pump without the receipt?

I bought a Medela Swing electric pump just 3 weeks ago and was really pleased with it until it stopped working on Thursday. Have been using it approx 4 times daily and I think the motor has gone.
Problem is that I've lost the receipt (it was bought just 7 days post birth, so I wasn't particularly organised at that point!). At £90 it's a bit of an expensive waste if I can't use it anymore.

Anyone else been able to get a refund either direct from Medela or from the retailer (got it from Mothercare) - would they accept seeing a print out of a debit card statement as proof of purchase?

It should be coveted by your statutory rights re goods being fit for purpose. Also if it was a gift you wld not have receipt yet wld still be entitled to expect it to work.

Have you tried going via the shop you brought it from first? Otherwise contact medina direct.

Mine's broken after 6 months having had issues for a while. I don't think they're designed very well!

Mine broke after 6 months, Boots replaced it without quibble butbi did have the receipt. they should accept any proo of purchase like card statement.

The only problem you would have is if you paid in cash.

Thanks for the replies. I bought it from Mothercare who I've heard aren't very good at issuing refunds/exchanges, but will try to take my debit card statement and see what they say.

I got a replacement from Mothercare for mine when it started cutting out

Returned mine to John Lewis for the same reason and they gave me a replacement but not a refund when I did not have a receipt but only the credit card statement.

Great, will go along to Mothercare tomorrow. Would def prefer a refund rather than replacement though, as I'd like to rent a hospital grade pump.
