Is it an urban myth made up by a not very funny person to make BF mum feel even more of a leper?

I was diagnosed with mastitis yesterday and am trying everything I can think of to speed up the recovery. I have antiBs and they have worked magic, but my breast is still rather engorged and painful.

If it all codswallop please tell me gently :o

kellymom

try wide toothed comb over the blocked ducts in the shower to loosen.

I dont know if its codswallop or not however I have an amusing cabbage/knockers story.

After Ds 4 my madwife informed me to stick cabbage leaves down my bra for relief. Well who was I to argue with a proffesional?

Anyhow I carry on as normaly as possible in my sleep deprived way. Go to the shops to buy milk. Stood at the counter with Shop keeper impatiently waiting for me to locate purse amongst the suitcase sized bag I felt needed for a stroll to the local shop 5 minutes away. I sense he is looking at me In a startled manor. Yep Emerging from my top Is half a bloody cabbage leaf.

I used the breast nurse gel pads.

Right I will ensure no cabbage will be visable to shopkeepers or any other members of the general public. My knockers are so huge anyway the cabbage leaves are total encased by my over the shoulder boulder holder bra.

Caterpillars - yuk yuk yuk! Extra protein for DS though!

I found that they really worked for me too. I bashed them up a bit with a rolling pin first, then kept switching them with ones from the fridge every half hour or so. Also found massage helped.
Hope you recover quickly.

I found them very cooling and soothing when my boobies were a bit sore. Perfect shape for the job, like it's what cabbage leaves were always meant for. I wonder who was the first woman to think of it and try it though?
