End of breastfeeding

My DD is 7 months old and was EBF until about 8 weeks ago. I slowly introduced formula and she is now on formula throughout the day. I have been breastfeeding her if she woke in the night but she has slept through for the past 2 nights so I'm starting to think she doesn't need to be fed from me. This morning my breast (only ever breastfed off one side due to left breast being reduced quite some years ago) is very tender and full. Obviously I dont want to express as this will create more milk but what can I do to ease it? How long will it take for my milk to dry up completely as I'm taking it from DD that this is the end of breastfeeding for us.

I think you probably should express a little just to take the edge off it, you don't want to get mastitis or anything. Not sure how long it will take to dry up completely but I don't think it shoudl take too long for you not to wake up full - I know my ds (8m) is really cutting down the night feeds now and it only seemed to take a couple of days for me not to be soaking the bed through!

Expressing a little in the shower can help.

Over the past 8 weeks I have gone from EBF to 3 bottles in the day and still feeding at least once if not twice during the night does that sound speedy? I was introducing a bottle feed instead of a breast feed every 2 weeks or so.
