urgent! expressing and blood in milk

I have just sat down to express ds next feed and I have got blood in my milk from the right side. I haven't got fully into pumping so only about 15ml. What do I do? I have had a look at my nippleand it looks like a small cut on it. Ds never latched properly so has 3 expressed bottles a day and 2 formula.

Am I going to have to pump and dump I have no freezer reserves?

Help!

I would still use it. There is probably hardly any in there.

It is fine, as long as there's no reason why your personal blood would be a problem.

Can you get help for the latching though?

Stupid question, but I'm r -'ve and he is +'ve but that shouldn't be an issue if I remember back to a'levels (although I failed biology!) Any ideas?

He is 15 weeks and in to quite a good routine so I wouldn't want to change that at this late stage, we did try at 5 weeks but we ended up in hospital for something completely different so happy to stick with the current one.

Am just expressing the left side at the moment so need to pump the right with blood (it just seems so wrong though!)

No, the mixed pos/neg is absolutely fine via milk :) Worth checking though!

If you're happy with the routine then great. What works, works.

A friend had cuts on her nipple and her son drank a big feed and then vomited bright pink milk all over her Shock
I remember the HV saying small amounts in the milk was ok but obviously a baby would not like the flavour if it was lots. She recommended nipple shields until the nipple had healed.
Personally speaking, with my DD1 to begin with I had trouble with her latching on and I got very sore and cracked nipples. Nipple shields helped me recover and made my nipples change shape with meant DD1 found it easier.
Might be worth a try if you're not against them?
