I wasn't expecting to BF, but my baby came yesterday and latched on really well after birth (i always give colostrum at least) and we've been getting on really well with it so think i may need some nursing bras.

the 'mother care 2 for 18'ish ones have really crap reviews but i cannot afford £30 each bras (unless bogof!!)

any ideas?

Bravado ones are excellent. Especially the 'body silk' one (something like that). You can get them online for better prices than in the shops. I got 2, they were expensive, but they have been the only bras I've worn these last 8 months so well worth it. I had a mammas & pappas one too that's rubbish .

£22.50 from here

Just seen you didn't want to spend too much. I'd say this was pretty essential bf kit.

BellaBearisWideAwake · 12/05/2011 18:37

I like the royce ones, can't remember the name but it's style 550 and you can buy direct from their website for £18

FutureNannyOgg · 12/05/2011 19:13

I would look about for Royce, Bravado or Hot Milk on offer. I also had some Miriam Stoppard ones from Debenhams that were decent. I found the Mothercare ones to be a false economy as they weren't supportive and I ended up not wearing them as they were uncomfy and my boobs looked awful in them.
If baby is new I would consider mooching around in sleep bras or support vests for a couple of weeks until things settle down as your size will be all over the place.

Mothercare's Cotton Broiderie Tshirt nursing bra gives me the right support and a nice shape too. Well worth £18, I wouldn't wear anything else!

LabMonkey · 13/05/2011 21:18

I just got a 2 pack from M&S for £25 today. So far so good :)

LoveBeingAbleToNamechange · 13/05/2011 21:26

I got a couple of Royce ones from nct.

ExcuseTheMess · 13/05/2011 22:25

M&S 2 for £25. I ended up getting these in a couple of sizes, they got great reviews, are comfy enough even to sleep in and fit really well.

I didn't get on with Mothercare's soft bra's as they're not deep enough in the middle and I'd fall out if I leant forward! But I did buy one of their t-shirt bra's (£18) and that's been fine.

I have huge boobs & found the bravado silk at 29.50 the only supportive comfy ones available & whilst I begrudged the £60 (1xblk &.1xwhite... Swooon!) to begin with found it excellent value for money and I just wash/wear contunually
if u aren't or huge norkage then prob not quite such issue!

I like the M&S ones too - two for £25. I've been washing one/wearing one for six months now and so far so good.

1Catherine1 · 14/05/2011 06:44

Have bought M&S and mothercare ones - prefer the M&S ones personally but you will want fitting for them as I bought them both in the same size and the mothercare ones only fit me when my boobs are empty and my M&S ones fit me quite comfortably when my boobs are full.

Tamdin · 14/05/2011 07:00

Yes another vote for the 2 for £25 from m&s. Pleased that one of them is a grey animal print too! A bit of fashion influence. I still care a bit! Grin

TotorosOcarina · 14/05/2011 07:31

You can get some good deals of ebay if you know what size & brand...

Dotty38 · 14/05/2011 23:42

Emily Jane ones are brill. The plain t shirt bras have been the comfyest and the the best for me. About £18 each but you can get them on ebay new for less.
