took my 5wo DS out for a walk hoping he would drop off. He didn't. So I thought that he might want a feed. I was near a parade of shops but no cafe, so I went into the tiny local library-and incidentally found a copy of the latest jasper fforde AND a copy of the MN guide to babies, yay. So I asked the two ladies on the desk if they minded if I fed my baby on there and they were so so lovely!

They said not at all, and did I want some privacy, not that they minded at all and "not that we mind if anyone else minds either" and they got me a chair and a glass of water! And then cooed over DS and said lots of lovely things about him.

Really really nice.

Is there any sort of website or something for shoutouts for people like this?

although I have visions of you sitting ON the desk and feeding...Grin

Ha! They moved a chair into the kids area for me-would have happily sat on the floor, just needed somewhere indoors

Could I feedback to herts libraries, or would they think I was bonkers?

I would feed back to the libraries, or just drop a little card into the library, did you get their names??

MamaChocoholic · 10/05/2011 17:18

Do drop in a card. I remember taking the dts for their hearing test. I got the appt time wrong, arrived on time but flustered, babies hungry, my first time driving with them on my own. lovely lovely receptionists found me a chair in a quiet room where I could feed in private (was still getting used to tandem feeding, so basically naked from waist up). such small acts of kindness can make all the difference when you're having a tough day. I meant to write a thank you but never got round to it. Will do so now (and appear way more bonkers than you as this was over 6 months ago!) Grin

Do write a quick thank you! It's always nice to get thank yous like that & it might make someone else less kind in there think.

Cool, ok I will. Still smiling about the experience! It was the "we don't mind if other people mind" that really got me
