replaced bf with bottle for one feed...now want to go back to bf...

on monday i replaced one of dds breastfeeds with a bottle, and did the same today - i hate it!!! i now want to go back to giving her the breast but am worried my supply will have dried up as my boobs didnt leak either time! any thoughts?

How old is she? If breastfeeding is well established, missing two feeds over two days shouldn't affect your supply.

Give it a try! Don't worry about it - lots of mothers give a bottle of formula now and again, or once and never again. I really don't think you'll have dried up!

you milk supply can go up and down, you might find the feed isn't that big at first, but it will be fine!
i carried on making milk for two weeks after i stopped BF!

dd is nearly 20 wks and weighs just short of 15lb. she's always been a good feeder and took to the breast like a dream but her weight gain has recently slowed. i also tried her with baby rice (at hv's advice) but she didnt seem bothered and i'd rather wait til 6 mths really - once weaning is started is it ok to stop?

Isn't it normal for weight gain to slow up though?

Of course! If she didn't like it, forget it. Don't worry about it. Feed her. Go on. You know you want to.

i think its normal for weight gain to slow, and ignore those charts! if your baby seems healthy and happy to you, thats the main thing!

Thanks everyone, at 11 am tomorrow the breast is back!

I stopped feeding completely for three days with dd1 and then missed it so much i changed my mind and managed to go back to it with no problems - your supply should build back up over a few days

Oh and ignore the HV. For once and for all,there are more fucking calories in breastmilk than babyrice.
