I am still feeding dd 4 times a day and she is now just over 9 months and no periods. did a pregnancy test just in case as was starting to worry but think it was nine months with both the others. anyone else gone longer as I am getting mildly concerned, not sure why though as it is great but would like to know when to expect so not caught short

Mine have all come back at nine months - just got mine back now

Is she feeding at regular intervals and at night still over those 4 feeds? When did you drop down to those?

I always go back to work at around 7 - 8 months (and therefore dont feed in the day) and they usually come back one to two months after this.

I managed to predict mine well as it was obvious things were changing a couple of weeks back

GeekLove · 03/05/2011 20:33

Mine only came back when I went to one feed a day when DS1 was 15 months. Lactational amenorrhea for the win!

TruthSweet · 03/05/2011 20:34

11 months with DD2 & DD3 both EBF to 5/6 months. With DD1 I got it back at 9 weeks but she was mainly bottle fed formula/ebm for the first 8 weeks before ebf.

littleomar · 03/05/2011 20:34

not until i'd completely stopped, then another month (at 10 months for ds1, 13 months for ds2)

WoodysHat · 03/05/2011 20:48

With DD I mixed fed pretty much from birth and my periods didn't return until she was 8 months old. DS is currently almost 11 months and bf (no formula ever) and no sign as yet. He has about 4 feeds a day and we cosleep so he helps himself through the night.

I've had a day here and there recently when DH has taken the children out for a whole day so wondered if that may kick start things but nothing yet.

My money is on my period arriving without any warning on the very day I wear White trousers for the first time this summer Hmm. Grin

AngelDog · 04/05/2011 00:14

14 months is the average apparently. The latest I've read on here was 31 months. Shock Mine haven't yet returned at 16 months.

Kellymom has some useful info.

Eachpeach80 · 04/05/2011 07:03

13 months, 3 months after slept through the night and about 2 months after dropping to 4 feeds a day. EBF. I kept sanitary products in my handbag since I gave birth as paranoid too.

It was not a complete surprise to me when it did come back, just had a feeling that it was about to...

mawbroon · 04/05/2011 09:03

Still none here at 14 months. Tandemming though, so still producing gallons of milk.

SlightlyScrambled · 04/05/2011 12:02

Waiting for mine to reappear and dc is 15 months old. Only nightweaned at 13 months, thought that they might come back then and still no sign.

Trying for a second so weaning is looking more likely now. DD loves her "Boo-wee" so it's a bit sad to force her to wean.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 04/05/2011 12:05

Just got my first and DC5 is just over a year old.
I stopped BF about 2mths ago. for the last couple of month it was only once a day.
I thought they were never coming back.
I was wrong, very wrong.
Bleegh.

Longtalljosie · 04/05/2011 17:28

16 months - three months after I stopped! Had I not stopped, heaven knows how long it would have been!

pigpog · 04/05/2011 18:04

With DS1 they didn't return until after we'd stopped, just shy of his 2nd birthday.

DS2 is 8 months, no sign of them yet!

I do have PCOS so think that may play a part in it too!

horseymum · 04/05/2011 21:16

ha! laughed at the white trousers comment it has made me a bit nervous too!of course, day after wasted money on pregnancy test and first day back at work - periods start. not as lucky as some of you then 31 months is impressive that must have saved a lot of money!

When DS was 16 months, 3 months after I started to do mixed feeding.

DownyEmerald · 04/05/2011 21:42

17 months - but I did feed during the night for ever.

DownyEmerald · 04/05/2011 21:44

At the beach as well! Luckily one with a toilet that had a tampon machine, and DP had the 50p or £1 or whatever it was.

WincyEtNightie · 04/05/2011 21:48

11 months and still waiting here. Feeding morning and night. Without too much TMI I suspect AF might be here in the next couple of weeks though.

With DD I think it was about 10 months with same two feeds but DS is a greedy thing so I suspect he's taking more milk.

Knackeredmother · 04/05/2011 22:18

18 months here and no sign. I work ft so he's not feeding that often either

clarkykitten · 05/05/2011 17:04

10 months, once DD started going from 7-5am at night (she was up about 4 times a night before then!)

IngridBergman · 05/05/2011 17:10

28 months here. Sorry! and he's still feeding and nearly four...
