apart from crying?

dd3 has started grabbing me (usally my arm) or crawls upto me smacking lips in a kissy noise. it makes me laugh, but its really sweet. she was doing it this morning when she woke up, and snuggle upto my breast whilst making kissy noises. lol.

mine twists her head and body round and buries her head in my jumper with her mouth wide open. I get the message!

She doesn't crawl yet though.

ds yanks down my top and tries to look for it. Or nuzzles his face into my armpit.

if he's nowhere near me he makes a really irrating nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn noise until i go pick him up and then he yanks down my top.

My DS seems to go from not hungry to screaming in 2 mins. But it's more like shouting than crying. Haven't noticed any other signs... he used to root but doesn't anymore...

DelGirl · 06/11/2005 22:02

I dont think I ever give dd a chance to ask for it but when I start to pull at my jumper or lay her on my lap she purses her lips with her mouth open and makes a 'i'm desparate for a drink, you've not fed me for 5 weeks' kind of sound' it's really funny . If i'm not quick enough she'll try and eat my top lol

misdee · 06/11/2005 22:02

dd3 is 8onths. she also does the buryig head in chest thing, but the kissy noises get me lol.

When DD was small, she's start shaking her head from side to side and sucking her wee fists.

DelGirl · 06/11/2005 22:05

In the morning, she sucks my chin when I get her up so I know she's hungry then. She did that at my sis's house once and I said, ahh dd loves me. My bro joked, either that or she thinks you look like a tit pmsl! You had to be there!

harpsichordcarrier · 06/11/2005 22:06

when she was little she used to do what my dh called "snuffling for truffles" like a prize pig
now she says "please may I have some more" shock]

Pixiefish · 06/11/2005 22:22

dd makes a noise- bit like a cough. She's always made this noise when she wants a drink. PLus she gets on my knee and then throws herself back into position. Or shell grab my hand and take it to my breast. Or she says 'ish ish' which is Welsh babytalk for I want

wizbang · 06/11/2005 22:34

Hi my son 3 mths established his own routine I feed him when he seems hungry he only really cries when he has a dirty nappy or has wind ! every three hours ish as he sleeps 13 hours at night day is day so no curtain pulling or quietness in fact he loves noise. I am breast feeding I found that when he slept in my room he would only want me for milk but not smelling me in the night he wakes up smiling and ready for a feed then takes enough rather than just comfort

Cabe · 06/11/2005 23:15

sazhig · 06/11/2005 23:41

dd2 ( one next week) assumes the position when she is picked up in that she will fall sideways until she is in position
OR lately - just pulls my shirt away from my body and tries to stick her head down, or tries to lift up my shirt.

WHen smaller she used to go from totally content to a screaming fit in seconds.... if you did not get to her quick enough.

auntymandy · 07/11/2005 06:26

oldest baby(15) 'whats to eat I'm starving'
2nd baby 'oh I'm a bit nibblish'
3rd 'av we any crisps'
4th 'what me av to eat' (he's 2)
5th cries sometimes or opens the fridge..looks for scraps..(he's!)

Tatties · 07/11/2005 09:31

DS used to throw himself back with his hand over his ear kicking his legs when sat on anyone's knee if he wanted a feed! Now he's 7mths it's more subtle, I don't notice so much what he does, I just know.
