and what I find interesting is the number of commenters who've said or implied women with babies should be at home and not saving their sanity with some adult company!

Link. Ugh. I hate the comments you get on these kind of stories, I try to tell myself it's the same 3 people that spend all day on the internet looking for BF stories so they can type 'whopping them out' and 'why can't they express' and other such bobbins.

I don't understand the landlady either, why did she 'have to act'? If I was running a pub and someone complained about a woman BF then I would just tell them to grow up and bog off.

I've never had any comments about BFing in public. In fact we frequented our local wetherspoons when DS was younger because they had decent comfy seats and staff never batted an eyelid about him feeding.

TheRtHonCountessOfBapula · 28/04/2011 09:16

Some of those comments are unbelievable.

"Oh for the days when women and children were banned from public houses."

Shock

Hoping that person was at least half-joking ...

Also, comments about expressing really get on my tits (if you'll pardon the pun). I've been feeding DS happily and successfully for 7 months but can rarely express more than an ounce or two at a time. It takes days to scrape together enough for a feed. I'm certainly not going to use that precious milk to bottle feed DS in a pub in case some twat gets a glimpse of breast in a pub or cafe and is offended.

Mind you, I've only ever had supportive comments when I've bf in public.

Sorry that should have said feared, typing one-handed as BF Grin

I've bf all 4 of mine out of the house, in coffee shops, pubs, cafes, church, on trains and buses, in the park etc and never once had a negative comment. If I had done what some of the commenters had suggested and stayed at home with my baby when it needed feeding with ds4 I would never have left the house. Like Countess I also struggle to express more than 3oz at a time and would never have given them to him in a bottle or beaker as it would be so much easier to bf and the expressed milk was for when I had to be at work.

Me too Liv77! Actually laughed out loud at that one.
