Correcting a bad latch in an older baby

Had no problems feeding up til now, DD is 10 months and since she got two teeth, my nipples are regularly sore and go white, hard and painful a few minutes after a feed.

I have tried to go back to basics and only feed her in a cradle hold, nose to nipple etc, but she knows her own mind now and grabs, pulls and clamps down before I can get her to open wide.

Anyone else had this - I'm going through Lansinoh at a rate of knots!

I did have this too!

Exactly the same - lovely feeding until tooth number 3 popped and then It was horrible - but just on one side.

I saw a BF counsellor at a local group and she talked me through ways to hold him etc. It did ease a little but tbh he'd done such damage by then that I needed to swap to one sided feeding to let it heal properly.

Could you go to a group or something?

I had this while ds4 got used to his new teeth and then it seemed to settle down. I went through a spate of very interrupted feeds as i often took him off when it was hurting and relatched him. I was talking to dh about it and said I couldn't remember it with the others and he said they had all had a phase like this - and that it did change.
I agree with Skip that going along to a group where people have experience of bf and older babies might help you.

Thanks for the replies, the nearest group to me is mostly young babies, but might try it on the off chance.

How long roughly did it go on for, this has been going on for a couple of weeks.

For us it was a couple of weeks this time.
