www.peaksoflondon.com/

7 months down the line and I have far too much cotton jersey / shapeless tat. When I first started BF I was clueless and I thought that at 6 months it would all be over. I suppose in a way I thought well I am BF and it is temporary and it doesn't matter what I look like! But I love BF and am no where near stopping and I saw this and wish I had spent the money on something from here to make me feel good rather than all those crap BF tops.

Nice to see BF in a stylish light too, not just leaking boobs and hiding under shawls.

The material looks cheap

IngridBergman · 16/04/2011 15:51

Gosh, some of them look complicated! I'm still feeding my nearly four year old and tbh I've only had two purpose made bf tops, both are very awkward and only any good to wear at night as pjs.

I just wear a skinny vest with a fairly low neckline, and a higher necked t shirt or long sleeved t shirt on top, lift up the t shirt and pull down the vest. zero exposure and very normal clothes.

I do wear bfing bras though under all that. Dresses are out, unless I'm being harsh and not letting him feed for a day! You don't have to spend a fortune or wear anything strange/gathered/etc.

IngridBergman · 16/04/2011 15:52

btw a lot of my t shirts are jersey but I only buy the sort with a bit of elastane or lycra - it makes you feel so much better. I can't wear loose fitting tops without feeling like a mess.

Bratfink · 16/04/2011 16:09

Saw these recommended in the guardian today. Yes nice but v spensive

Kevinia · 16/04/2011 16:13

um, what about just hitching up your top and wearing a cardie to conceal your exposed bit of back?

CamperFan · 16/04/2011 18:38

Could never spend that much on something that gets barged on and washed a gazillion times!

CamperFan · 16/04/2011 18:39

I mean barfed!!

AngelDog · 17/04/2011 00:14

They look lovely....but not at that price! Shock

I have to buy cheap patterned things as they don't show DS's snot / dribble / eczema cream.

mrsbumbledosem · 17/04/2011 10:41

I know I know - it's more of a fantasy on my part, you know. Or for special occasions - I spend money on cheap stuff that doesn't really hit the spot but yes it doesn't matter about shit/snot/barg/barf and goose fat eczema cream. But... I thought it was a nice website and a nice idea that fashionable stylish women are doing something that brings breastfeeding out of the cupboard so to speak.

LOVE The Tokyo top, looks super-handy and interesting design. But yes, expensive for something that's going to get leaked and sicked up on.

MrsGubbins · 17/04/2011 21:16

those prices are ridiculous... I would rather flash!

BaronessBomburst · 17/04/2011 22:21

Some of those models are a tad skinny for BFders, don't you think?!

bigmouthstrikesagain · 17/04/2011 22:32

hmm - only the Tokyo top was patterned the one thing I learnt while bf'ing little ones was that a patterend top helps hide leakage much better than plain jersey - and I was a leaker - the best thing to do is wear layers vest under and t-shirt blouse whatever on top other than that those waterfall style cardies are useful for shrouding activity when you have a wriggly baby.

None of the bf'ing tops I ever bought were worth it - always far to complicated and all the layers made them a buggger to dry.

mrsbumbledosem · 18/04/2011 07:26

yes baroness I certainly don't correspond to any of those body shapes and in fact my boobs look more like I am carrying a bag of potatoes around up there. 2 bags on potatoes.

I like the apron dress but I'll stick to H and M for now.
