I top up at every feed and have done for 5 months (long boring sob story) anyway should I buy the faster flow teets for 6month+ or can I do a DIY job and add some holes or should I just stick with what I have - she doesn't seem too bothered but first baby and so I don't know if its a good idea to move to the faster flow ones...sometimes she is falling asleep on her last bottle of the night and I wish she could down it faster as I prefer to put her down to bed still awake.

If she is happy with the bottle teat and flow as is I would be reluctant to change it if you wish to continue breast feeding as well. When I switched to a faster teat with my first born she decided the milk was not coming from me as fast as it was the bottle so it was our steady decline to stopping breast feeding. I stuck with the slower teat with my second and he happily took bottle and breast for 8 months. If you are using Avent bottles I do remember a teat that was variable so you just had to turn the bottle around and it would increase the flow - might help stir her from her sleep and then turn it back around to the slow position. And I would be reluctant to do a DIY job as I would be worried it would damage the teat and small parts could break off in your little ones mouth. Sorry not much help, just my experiences.

Hi ticklebug, that is really helpful and it was kind of what I was wondering. I'd quite like to carry on bf for now, so I'll persist with what I'm doing. Thanks so much.
