DD nearly 6 mths- suddenly struggling to feed

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this. DD is 6 months old on Thursday and for the last week days has been struggling to feed. She latchs on, then very quickly starts to gasp and seems to be struggling to cope with swallowing and very quickly comes off. She's extra windy from it too, gets painful hiccups and is posseting a lot, often her whole feed. She used to posset a lot when she was younger and I've never been able to lie her down straight after a feed without her losing some food, except into her Amby Nest, but even now she's being sick in there. I'm not eating anything out of the ordinary. Is there anything I can do to help her? She normally takes a long time to feed and I always assumed I have a rather slow let down.

Could she have a cold or be teething? DD struggles more with the speed of my letdown if she can't breathe easily and the drool from teething makes her more sicky.

No. no cold. She doesn't seem to be teething.

Ear ache?

She had earache last week and has been on anti-biotics, but when she actually had the painful ear she was eating fine. Perhaps its just taking a while to go.

Could well be, my ds is on his second lot of anti-bs as his came back after 2 weeks. he's definitely more uncomfortable feeding on one side - with the painful ear on the top.
