Leaving 25 month old BF toddler for 6 nights

I am going to a conference at the end of June. I will not be able to BF during this period.

My work days DS feeds at bedtime and once or twice in the night (both breasts).
My non-work days he additionally feeds at nap time (one breast).

When DS finishes nursing I'll be fine with it (a little wistful obviously), but I'd like to follow child-led weaning as much as I can. He is fine on cows milk when someone else puts him to bed.

I was thinking that just hand expressing a couple of times a day to keep things ticking over would be enough to resume BF when I get back. I will probably be uncomfortable for a couple of days so expressing a little will relieve this as well.

I remember travelling for work when DS1 was older but for a shorter period of time and BF resumed on my return.

Do you think my milk might dry up in this time?

Thanks

Sorry, no advice but watching with interest as I'll be away for 3 nights when DS is 15 months old, and wondering the same thing.

I have emailed LLL for advice; will post it on here if I hear back!

I'm interested in this too, I have to go to a conference soon for 5 nights and DS is still having two night feeds (occasionally more), morning feed, two pre-nap feeds and a bed time feed. I also have real trouble expressing for some reason so I'm a bit worried about going away to be honest. Will watch with interest.

Well, I'm not overwhelmed with the responses!
I posed the same question to the ABM and they were very positive, basically saying that all should be fine, especially if I'm expressing a little bit (for my need, or just to keep things ticking over).

Gosh, that first BF when I get back is going to be so special.

How old is your DS rosy?

My instinct is that it'll be fine - lots of much younger babies go on nursing strike for longer than that.

Bonkers, I have left a nursing toddler for up to 3 days. Actually I also left ds4 when he was only 5 months old for 3 days and that was fine but I did have to pump very regularly.

When they were older, I did express a bit when away but never got more than 1oz at a time. They always resumed feeding with gusto on my return and didn't seem to think my supply was down.
