EBF at 11 1/2 months - what next?

I am wanting to stop BFing my DD but she has always refused a bottle or cup even with expressed milk.

Currently she feeds at 7pm, 11pm and 4am. I want to give formula for the 11pm feed but when I tried her on follow on milk she outright rejected it.

Any advice?

My DD never took follow-on milk when she knew she could get better stuff! Breastmilk is ridiculously nicer and sweeter. And probably more thirst-quenching. Formula just stinks. Literally! In the end I accepted she wouldn't just drop one feed for follow-on - it was all or nothing. I would guess your DD may well be the same. She has had her favourite drink for almost a year now.

Maybe you could just offer the cup of expressed milk, or nothing. Just for a few days and see if it gets you anywhere?

But someone wiser may come along and completely correct me! Grin

have you tried offering cows milk? She is close to 1 year so it would be fine to use

I think at this age you can move straigh to cows milk, you may need to experiment with temperature and cups. I started offering DD cows milk at 12months it did take her a few months to start drinking it in any quantity but I was happy to carry on BF as well. I just wanted to know she would take cows milk in case I wasn't there.

Do you really mean EBF ie no food? Will she drink water from a cup? Can you add milk to her food?
