Can't find 'exclusive pumping' forum!

Aargh, I hope someone can help me. I found a forum the other day, on one of these mummy websites, I think it was an american one. It had a section specifically for mums who were exclusively pumping, and had loads of advice and info and it was really useful for me.

I looked at it briefly then resolved to come back to it and read thoroughly. And now I can't find it. And I've checked my internet history and everything. I have no idea where I found it. Does it sound familiar to anyone at all?! Needle in a haystack I know. Could I have found it through kellymom perhaps.

Am feeling very thick and stupid. And a bit sunburnt. Maybe that's the problem. Heatstroke...

Oooh, I'd be interested too, though we are going to start introducing formula soon as I'm really struggling. Exclusive pumping + reflux + type 1 diabetes = nightmare!

I remember seeing one on babycentre.co.uk at the forum section. Not sure how much traffic it gets though.

HTH

good for you, i did this 10 years ago, against ALL advice but successfully managed it exclusively for 6months. i didn't look online for help so can't help you there. from memory, eat really well yourself, get dh to support you, get 2 lots of everything (inc pump) so one lot can be ready, one lot sterlising etc, get a cold bag. don't expect anyone to understand what you're doing, it's a lonely business so seriously well done again!

yes yes titan, that's it! thank you so much! and thanks aonach , will check that one out as well.

it's so good to find that you're not alone, isn't it?! I've done 8 weeks now, and all I get is people being shocked that i've managed to 'keep my supply up' etc, so it's nice that other people do it successfully for quite a while.

cobweb it sounds like you're really up against it, you have my sympathy and encouragement. We give LO a formula feed whenever we don't have breast milk with us, or we have low supply, and I have no qualms about doing it whenever is necessary. There's far too much pressure over this whole feeding thing, as if we don't have enough on our plates already.

I now have 3 sets of pump parts expat so I don't have to sterilise overnight! Am currently resisting the urge to get a double pump though... it may make life much easier but I think I'd feel too much like a dairy!

I've been exclusively pumping for 8 months so far although am now on one pump a day and aiming to stop by the end of this month. It's definitely possible to do. I'd definitely recommend a double pump and hands free pumping bra. Makes life so much easier, especially at the beginning when you're trying to pump 8 times or more per day. Then you can browse the internet, watch tv or whatever and try to forget about it! I bought the ameda lactaline but then ended up hiring a hospital grade one which seems even more effective. Definitely a good call on getting lots of pump parts. We also bought a mini fridge to put the milk in so I wouldn't have to leave the bedroom in the middle of the night. But then I'm pretty lazy!
