B'feeders with existing children - how do you manage through a growth spurt?

DS2 is 12 days old and going through the 10 ish day growth spurt phase. I have only moved very briefly from the sofa this afternoon/evening for pee and food breaks!

Luckily my mum is around and DH is starting his 2 weeks paternity leave so I have been able to focus on DS2 while they see to DS1

However, my mind is turning to managing the school run etc when there is another growth spurt. My thinking is I will have to express one feed for this as I can't have DS2 yelling for the boob as not good for him (or me!) to cry for too long

Was just wondering how others manage it?

Congratulations Smile

The baby (no.3) slept for most of the school run - the pram always sent him off

I got the hang of hands free feeding in the sling pretty sharpish. I don't see how I could have worked it otherwise!

Also, ds1 was still nursing, so he was happy to join in the feeding.

Ahh there is that - they always seem to like the car seats/pram don't they...I have a Karime sling that I'm wrestling with atm so maybe I'll be proficient with that by the time the next growth spurt arrives!

He is finally asleep on DH after hours of cluster feeding...my boobs have nowt left!

Congratulations Puss, like the others have said LO will probably sleep in the sling/pram/carseat. In all probability you'll be fine so try not to worry.

Cluster feeding can be tough can't it but you know that there is always milk there even if it doesn't feel like it and LO is going through a growth spurt.

You'll be fine, keep feeding and keep posting Smile
