Anyone else got a small baby who doesn't concentrate when feeding?

I have a 12 week old DS. He's very cute. He seems ravenously hungry and when I feed him (I'm bf-ing) he latches on and starts feeding then catches my eye and starts smiling, chatting (in that way they have) just as my letdown reflex kicks in and showers him and me.

Any tips? It seems to mean to not look at him. (And he is so cute)

Same here, great big smile and mouthfull of milk emptied all over us both! I just pile the muslins under his head in anticipation. He's too cute not to look at.

He gets quite indignant if I'm not concentrating though, eg, if I talk to someone, he'll unlatch, look up and give me a "do you mind?" raised eyebrows look.

Grin They're so cheeky! I will try muslins. It's especially great when he exposes my boob in a roomful of strangers!!

I usually have a muslin hanging over my shoulder too for that very scenario!

My almost 9 month old is still doing this... v. embarassing in public. Last week I showered the girl sitting next to me at playgroup... especially now he's much bigger and v.wriggly - and yes, exposes my boob at the most inopportune moments.

God yes. Grin He's been doing it since 8 weeks. Hmm It's cute, but a PITA, and he's also very intolerant of me talking, typing, eating, knitting or moving infinitestimally.

DS1 was far more easy-going.

My 13 week old does this i think he thinks its a game as he has started laughing when milk flies out all over his face, its very messy but too cute hearing him laugh. Then i laugh and he laughs even more. When we stop laughing he latches back on and does the same again! Think i need to stop laughing:)

I had it again after his bath and before I put him in his bed. I had to not look at him - I knew I'd be there all night otherwise.

He even gets sidetracked when one of the other DCs comes to see how he is and to coo over him.

I think they like milk on their faces. Must be a baby joke or something Grin.
