Thought this article was a winner about breastfeeding.

Even Miranda Kerr picked up on it!

You have to wonder what is happening to us westerners when we scorn at breastfeeding, something which is wonderful and natural... are we becoming too detached from reality and nature?

Proper LOL here! Liked that a lot, thanks.

Wow, love it! Grin Wish we lived in a culture that accepting of breastfeeding!

Ah, that fits with what a Mongolian mum told me on the postnatal ward, last week. Extended bf is normal, and if a baby is upset, just give it boob!

Interestingly, the attitude isn't much different in http://www.naturalchild.org/guest/claire_niala.html.

Gah. I mean, Kenya

NotQuiteCockney · 29/03/2011 09:45

Finished it, great article, thanks!

Please could I make a really cheeky request and ask somebody to post the OP articles with an automatic link so that I can open them one handed on phone whilst BFing DD? Thank you!

It's a wonderful article that I've seen printed in quite a few places. Thanks for sharing :)

Love all the feedback and comments. Definitely a great article and clearly written by and intelligent woman and mother. Breastfeeding should be encouraged as much as possible as natural, wonderful and accepted. It's up to us to make it so....

Sorry about the lazy links there!

And by the way, we have a giveaway for mothers day on our facebook page if anyone is interested in winning a natural nursing necklace for breastfeeding earthy mama facebook

And this on 'The longer the breastfeeding period the bigger the brain, according to a new study at Durham University.'

The advice is there, society needs to embrace it.

A friend who's just returned from a number of years living in Mongolia was saying recently that one of the main topics for popular songs in Mongolia is how much you love your mother. He said if you see a bunch of drunken louts singing at the tops of their voices, it will likely be songs about their mums. Grin I can't help thinking there's likely some connection there with their attitudes to bf.

Babieseverywhere · 30/03/2011 21:16

Aww, love both articles especially the Mongolia one (which I love reading again)
and as for drunken men singing about loving their mothers :D

Cheers for the nursing necklace link :) Please let me win it, save my hair from being pulled out. My daughters favourite occupation whilst nursing, sigh.
