I can't remember when it all settles down. Baby is four weeks, and although I had these things before, I just can't remember when it all stopped and I didn't wake up drenched and cold and horrible! Can anyone give me hope of how much longer until my body adjusts please!

My friend had bad night sweats when breastfeeding - that stopped around 8 weeks (hers are very hormonally linked), and the milk leakage should calm down after 6 weeks or so)

I cannot remember either, but I used to go to bed, and at the 10pm ish feed go back to bed with an old bath towel across my front, wake at about 2am, discard the sopping thing and that would sort of save my duvet!

Did you have a lot of water retention during your pregnancy? I did, and sweated loads. Can't remember how long for,but I used to go to bed lying on a towel and with a top sheet between me and the duvet, to try to reduce washing. It did calm down, but can't remember when.

my baby is 8weeks and the sweats seem to have just about stopped. he's been through a big 6week growth spurt so milk supply seems to have really settled as well. i don't get massive leaks but did get a few overnight ones during the growth spurt when my supply increased.

Thanks all, glad to hear it's not just me and that it will settle soon!

I never really had night sweats but since having DD1 I have been very hot at night and barely used a duvet except when it is really cold outside. She is now nearly 3 and all through BFing her, tandem feeding and now just BFing DD2 it has been the same. At the moment I am going to bed in a T-shirt and not using the duvet at all while DH is completely snuggled under the duvet complaining it is cold Hmm

Night sweats ended early (around week6) and leakage engorgement at week 12 for me, so you should be much better soon! Good luck!

Get some big beach towels for the bed and your pillow. I seem to remember having them for about 8 weeks. Make sure you drink plenty though it may seem counter intuitive.
