Could me taking antibiotics & pain killers cause tummy ache in my breastfed toddler?

She is 28 months and feeds at bedtime and at nights. I have been taking antibiotics and pain killers for a tooth infection for a few days (both safe for bf).

DD has started saying she has a pain in her tummy. She seems otherwise well.

I know antibiotics can cause tummy upset.

Could it pass through the milk?

Thanks

Weird, this has just happened to me! I was on antibs for a week and both DD1 and DD2 had upset stomachs. DD2 had the trots and kept saying her stomach hurt but she seems fine now. Neither of them suffered as much as me though! My GP did warn me that it could affect them. Which ones are you on?

When I was on antibiotics my dd had an upset tummy and diaroa. Gp had warned me that this may happen.

I was taking Amoxicillan. I think it has another ingredient too.

Also took Ponstan for a few days as the pain was pretty bad.

It's the only time I've been on an antibiotic since dd2 was born and she is usually very healthy too. Sounds like there is a connection between the meds and her tummy bothering her.

Yes - same happened to DS. I ended up stopping them (but they were only precautionary!)

Thanks for the replies.

She went to bed quite happily tonight and I have finished the antibiotics so hopefully back to normal soon.
