9 day old ds only likes my right breast

Hiya, I had a few problems with breast feeding and at first he would only go on with a shield. I've had to stop using it as its affecting his weight gain. However now he seems to only like 'rightie' and just scream whenever 'leftie' is near him. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for getting leftie involved as I guess only using 1 breat isn't an option.

Thanks

Feeding from only one breast is perfectly possible (we can feed twins after all) but is rarely necessary I think. It's common for them to have a preference though.

Have you tried feeding in different positions? eg feed on the right in the cradle hold and then shift over to the left without turning him so now he's in the rugby hold. You might be able to trick him into thinking he's still on the right

I used to use rugby ball hold on the right to fool him into thinking it was the left, it's worth a try.
