hi everyone,

looking for a bit of advice, i have a 9 week old who is constantly hungry, is it okay to give him an extra bottle in the evening to settle him? he has 180 mls between 7 and 8 oz every feed and ive currently got him on 3 1/2 to 4 hourly feeds

not really had alot of advice or support from the health visitor so just needed some reassurance really

Yes honey, absolutely fine.

My DD didn't read the side of the tin either, and was drinking "too much" milk. But she was hungry, so we fed her. All much happier once we stopped worrying and counting and just fed on demand!!

Hope she settles down soon x

Have you tried feeding every 3 hours? (my DS was every 4 hours from birth, so its not a necessity) most babies feed every 3 hours until about 12 weeks when they're tummys are that much bigger and can store food for longer. May ease the hunger a little, whilst providing you the time to fit in the extra feed with squeezing it in iyswim.
