I really like my health visitor but she really made me laugh today.

She commented on how well I had done to bf DD who is now 10 months old. She was prem and fed expressed milk thriugh tube then in bottles for the first eight weeks.

Anyway she asked me how long I intended to bf. I said I wasn't sure and to be naughty I asked her what she thought. She said it's totally my decision and in some countries women bf up until even as much as 2 years old!!

I decided not to quote WHO guidelines at her. And isn't the average worldwide weaning age about four or five?

4 years 2 months, I'd read was the average, although I can't remember where. I like to quote it a lot as people are usually suitably shocked.

Bless her - she sounds better informed and more supportive than many HVs. Hmm

You're doing a grand job. :)
